Thanks for the replies to the last one. I've read every single one and appreciate it for real.

This week I spent most of the weekend in the front room doing something I didn't expect to be doing, which is writing a plan. (Did go to Notting Hill Carnival as well for a few hours…vibes.)

I wrote a plan for something I want to build for people like me, trying to get free from something that has too much of a grip on them. I'll say more when there's actually something to say but something came up while I was working on it.

There's that phrase people say that inspired my album. You've made your bed, now lie in it. It's always felt like a door closing behind you, it’s always felt final. You did this, so live with it. Thing is though, if the bed just gets made once, it’s lifelong punishment.

A bed doesn't stay made. You make it, you sleep in it, you wreck it. Next morning you make it again. So my updated take is: you made your bed, and you can make it again. Tomorrow. And the day after that.

The dramatic bits of my story are what I can focus on for too long. Rock bottom. The moment things changed. How I’ve failed.

But the things that have helped me get to a healthier place are quite boring. Small repeatable habits.

For example going for a morning walk to get some fresh air so I start the day well, or writing a list of 3 things I’m grateful for every day. (I’ve missed quite a few days so let’s say most days.) Or making my bed.

The work isn’t dramatic. It’s just today. And then tomorrow.

A question for you. What's your small thing? The one that keeps you steady. I'd like to nick a few for myself, and also share a few in a future letter if that’s cool, no names obviously. Thanks for tapping in.

Guv

P.S. Someone probably came to mind while you were reading this. Send it to them. You don't need to explain why.
